2- There will always be a spot in my heart for the M50

Thanks again for all the help guys, I appreciate it so much. I got the HP increase I was looking for, but not where it will get me in trouble.

Good choice!

As to the big fugly exhaust, don't worry, after a few days you won't even notice it except for when one of your buddies points it out to you, at least that's the way it is with the Bandit. I just have a few one liners ready for those times, something like "you wouldn't see it if you wern't always behind me", or "Yours is only so small becaus------- well you know"

Anyway, congrats on the new ride. Enjoy!

I hear ya, I've put aftermarket cans on almost every bike I've ever owned, and I do love the music of a well tuned motor winding up, but not everyone feels that way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,maybe I'm just getting old.

It does change the look of the bike, and if you like it, that's all that counts. For me, it's almost a toss-up, you get a big fugly shiny thing, or you get a nice small shapely one with a fugly strap to hold it on. I guess the sound has to be the tie breaker.

It's your bike man, how it looks to you is really all that counts.

Chris, do you have enough time on the new bike yet that you can comment on the comfort of the seat? How does it compare to the one you had on the M50?
The reason I ask is that the GSX650X seat will fit right on my 1250 Bandit, and I hear that the 650 seat is more comfortable.

Comparing it to the M50, it's not even close. Of course my M was the Limited, so it had a gel seat.

I'm not sure if the seat breaks in, or it broke in my ass, but I do find the seat more comfy then my first 100 miles on it. Not real sure how it would compare to the Bandit. If you want to split the cost of a Sargent seat with me, I'll send you mine so you can see for yourself

Looks were a terciary reason for switching the muffler to me. Sound came first, a quiet black bike on a dark road may as well be Wonder Woman's invisible jet. Noone had a clue I was there. The weight differnce was definitly something I considered. In person, I like the look of the strap, but I may paint it black as well.

So are you saying the M50 seat was more comfortable?

Absolutely. That gel seat was fantastic. I could run a full tank of gas down to fumes before needing to stop. If it wasn't a PITA, I would have brought that seat inside with me after riding to watch the ball game. I heard the non-limited M50 seats were torture, but I so loved that gel seat.

Even though the M50 seat was more comfy, the GSXF is better for me on longer runs. The M50 only gives you one place to sit and be comfy, where I can slide back or move forward on the GSXF to relieve pressure.

Thanks man, I'm loving it. The Yoshi sounds great. Next in the sights is an undertail and a hugger.

Got her broken in, did my first service. Hopefully the weather will be kind to me
