| My wife and I are new to motorcycle riding and we currently have a buell blast (found a used one for a price we couldn't pass up). I'm a big guy 6'0 275 and am having decent fun on the blast (nice torque), but after 65 the torque runs out and it's hard to pass someone. Now don't get me wrong i've gone 85 on it (pretty respectable for a blast and my fat butt) but I want something that will cruise 70+ and be able to pass with me on it. Now the big delima is that I would like a bike that my wife (5'4 and really narrow) can eventually take when she wants to step up. We both like the kat 600 and 750 but it's too tall for her and most cruisers that I like are too wide (although I'm leaning towards a sportbike because I love the thrill of leaning far into corners). Does anyone have suggestions of a powerfull enough bike that I wouldn't have to spend a long time setting up the bike for when I ride vs. when she rides?

| Throttle Jockey ![]() | BMW makes some decent sport and sport tourers with electronically adjustable suspension. Kind of pricy though.

| A Bandit 600 is a nice starter bike. It's like a Katana with handlebars instead of clip-ons. It's not the strongest bike in the world, but it is a 4-cylinder so it will really come alive on the top end (unlike the Buell). Problem is, they don't make them anymore. We have a member (not me) looking to get rid of a 1998 model. |

| You need to look at buying motorcycles the same way you do when buying cloths, nothing that fits you is going to fit her. She need to get into it the same way everybody else does, start small & light, than move into the bike that fits your style & size.
