And not all magazine writers are equal. Some have more knuckle dragging experience than others.

The V-Rod isn't street legal? Why not? I actually like the way those look A LOT, but I don't know if I'd spend $30,000 on one.

The V-Rod is street legal. The drag variant isn't, probably for emissions.

I've got to admit, I love the question "how do you ride it fast?"

It's real easy.

0) Be sure your all of your insurance policies are paid, and your family knows where to find your will and other paperwork.
1) Point the bike towards a long, wide-open space.
2) Lay your chest on the tank.
3) Drop the bike into 1st gear.
4) Twist your right wrist down while opening your left hand.
5) Hold on tight. When the tach gets up near the red line, shift.
6. Goto step 5.

hahaha at those speeds, would you really want to be concentrating on a prayer? You'd probably kill yourself before you finished your prayer, rendering it useless haha.

I usually say my Al Shepherd prayer prior to kick-stand up.

"Dear Lord, please don't let me F-up"

Just came back from a windy track-day. Almost lost my rear end while doing a turn at about 80 mph, full lean, knee down. Damn, that was scary....

Said a "thank you" prayer to Buddha.

New Enough Motorcycle Apparel sells motorcycle jackets, pants and suits, boots, gloves, helmets, etc :: New Enough Motorcycle Apparel

They have a reasonably good selection at about 15 to 20-pct discount. Best thing is if your order is over $200, they don't charge shipping and being a joint in Texas, no California sales tax either.

I personally prefer two-piece suits because of:

1. Flexibility - you can wear just the jacket and a suitable abrasion-resistant textile pants for everyday riding
2. Ease of use - Imagine riding in a hot day, after a few laps on the track, your skin will be bounded with the inner of the suit due to the capillary effect of the sweat. Under that circumstance, trying to remove a one-piece suit is damned near impossible (picture Mel Gibson trying to get out of that straitjacket in Lethal Weapon); I've seen that all the time. It's still somewhat difficult if you wear a two-piece suit, but a helluv a lot easier.

Yeah, Wookie, I prefer 2 pc suits also....but I just can't find any my size!
Of course, I can have them full custom made, but that'll cost me a fortune!

So I settled for a 1pc....and my god, the toilet trips are such a pain!!!
Maybe I should have paid that extra money just to make it easier.

depending on the bike you might go faster with a 2nd gear clutch pop.....but if you need to ask how to go fast, this technique could hurt you.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I dont even think the guy has a bike. No offense intended to the original poster, but if I had a GSXR1000 I would abbreviate it as a GSXR 1K. Not a K1 GSXR.

Hmmm, his bike could be a 2001 GSXR....

I refer to my bike as a K6 gixxer as it's 2006 MY bike....

Could be. I would hope that by the time you get to a big bore sport bike you ALREADY know how to ride fast, so you don't kill yourself. I put quite a few miles and years behind me before I got the bike in my avatar. And by that time I knew how to flog it already.
