Fill out your profile.

We'd need to know town and state for someone to compare.

Welcome

If you can get the bike on the folk's policy, shouldn't be too bad.

If you have to get your own policy, it will be expensive, although I can't imagine more than Taxachusetts. One of our members was reporting over 1 k per year from there.

We have a lot of folk from Texas. It's slow on the weekend but, someone from there should help.

Like Jim pointed out, at your age, on a race replica, is going to be expensive. I'd bet 2-3 times what a GS 500 would cost.

It depends on insurance company. Some will not insure you but with your profile I would not be surprised if some insurance companies will turn you down and refuse to insure you or quote ridiculous prices. You will definitely need to shop around. Dairyland seems to be a good place to start. Mine varied by over 3k from one insurance company to the next.

Significantly cheaper than it would be for a sports bike. I am not an insurance expert and no one here (unless they are insurance agents) can give you an accurate quote. Like I said you'd have to shop around. If you have insurance now on an automobile, you might get a discount. Reputable insurance companies nowadays use your credit score to base your premiums on so that counts, too. To give you a reference point, I'm thirty, single, have two vehicles insured and my home insured with Shelter. When I added my Buell, Shelter would not even cover such a bike as they considered it too risky. My agent (I've used him for many many years) used Dairyland and got me as low as 110 for six months for a bare bones liability insurance. Full coverage would have been 880 for six months. He got me a quote through someone else (can't remember the name) that was 3700 every six months!!! I have excellent credit and no accidents and major violations.

I don't think you need to go into all that much detail unless you want to. You ARE officially single, aren't you? (meaning, not married) Even with a live-in gf, all your papers should state that you are single.

BTW, be careful with that bike if you decide to go supersports.

Oh one more thing. If you are thinking about having your gf as a passenger, supersports bikes are not made to have passengers even if you can, and it's not very comfy in the back. So if you have any plans of going on long rides together, a cruiser will do a better job.

You're either single or married. No 'tween. Like kay said, don't get into too much detail; insurance agents are in business to make money which comes in the forms of premiums paid by you. Their jobs is to make you pay a higher premium. They will ask you questions related to that such as where the bike is stored, is it locked at night, does it have an alarm, how much riding experience you have had, any safety courses taken, how often you ride, etc. Keep it reasonable and don't offer too many details. If I were you I'd get the yellow pages out and get to calling. You can get a ballpark quote in 5 minutes or less on the phone.

5 years difference in the age of the bike, making it less valuable, therefore lower cost to insure.

FWIW, I pay almost $1000 per year for insurance, and I'm 43 years old with a clean driving record.

Then again, my insurance covers everything ...
