a sport bike for a change. The last one I had was a couple of Ninja's back in the day. I miss the handling and quickness of sport bikes, but there are so many to choose from I need some advice on which one. One of my main concerns is weight, I am tired of wrestling the Harley and want some thing light. I have 7K logged on it, and other than high school I haven't ridden anything else for any length of time. My bike experience has mostly off-road. I have done it all; enduro, trials, X-country and MX. I started racing in 1970, turned pro in 1979, and raced often up until 1999, now I just ride for fun. I know dirt has nothing to do w/ street, but I did gain some experience in riding for 37 years. My street riding consists of local jaunts to eat, and an occaisional road trip, usually less than 200 miles. I basically like to cruise twisty back roads, my normal evening rides consist of about a 30 mile loop. I don't carry passengers, am in good shape, not heavy and about 6' tall. I can't decide between an "R" bike or a toned down bike. I did ride a CBR600RR and it was fun, I had no problem rowing the gearbox to keep it in the revs, but was concerned it might tire me out mentally if ridden for long. I also rode a Ninja 650, it was more comfortable, but not as precise in the handling dept. So what are you that have more street experience recommend? |
