Default Is this a good deal?

This looks cheap, and I am afraid of the "If it's too good to be true....." story. What is "Carbs need work" hiding (potentially)?

1996 Suzuki Bandit 600

Thanks for helping out. I'm such a rookie!

If it's close enough, just give it a good going over. It's going on 12 years old and it will come down to how well it was maintained. A carb overhaul isn't that hard if you know how to do it and have the tools and manual.

Definitely test drive it if you can.

No mileage figure? That D&D pipe will be loud. I'd look for something with a clearer history unless you're into fixin' 'em up.

If it was close to me, I'd check it out. I don't know about your area but $1300 is a pretty low asking price. Could be a great deal because it's a 600 with some rash or it could be wrung out. Never know unless you look.

I called and left a message asking for some info. It's located very close to work. May stop by and look...if he calls back. Also asked for pix of the rash.

My guess: The bike is not running right (or at all) and he really doesn't know WHY. If he really did know why, he probably would fix it.

I figured the same. Could be he tried to install a kit and bunged it up.

Might just be the picture, but the back tire looks bald.

Good catch on the tire. I think the fact that I asked for more info scared him. He hasn't called or emailed pix. Maybe he's just busy. Even if he does call, I'll keep looking for the right deal.

That rear tire is pretty bald. I wouldn't be surprised if the current owner was doing burnouts. You can check by getting low and looking at the underside of the rear seat and fender. If you see (and feel) lots of little rubbery melted chunks, this owner has been squidly.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust it after having been subjected to that tumble.

I'd buy it for parts only. Even if the frame is straight, there's thousand in damaged parts.

Exident? Exident? I've seen some bad spelling, but that's ridiculous.
