| What do you think. The bikes have both got scuffs on the paint, the 00 shines a little brighter than the cbr. The katana has 18k miles versus the cbr's 38k miles. Cbr will need rubber before the end of the year, Katana has new rear rubber and about 5k left on the front. It (cbr) has a K&N air filter and two brothers racing pipe, while the katana has nothing aftermarket The CBR ride like a tank, you don't turn around the corner, the bike turns you around the corner. I didn't notice a huge difference in juice pulling back on the lever, the clutch isn't tight as I'd like it. However I have a feeling on the freeway that might be a different story as far as power. I expected a little more juice but the clutch may be the culprit. The damage on the cbr sustained looks more like a drop parked than any bad accident whereas my bike most definitely got laid on its side a couple of times. What's your opinion on the cbr? The bike's definitely more comfortable to me than the katana I'm riding with the exception of the cornering as I wasn't used to it. I'm kinda wondering how it'll do in the canyons. I'm guessing it'll probably turn a bit better than a vmax which is also a tank and also the only other high cc bike I have to compare it to. Curb weight is close to 700 versus the katana around 400 And if I did happen to swap, any idea what a clutch might cost installed? It seems to need one, maybe not today but fairly soon. And for those concerned, I've been riding all but two years since age 16 and I'm 35, I can contain myself with the power. |

| Well I took the thing for a ride again and it definitely showed me what it had this time around. I also got a better look at it and the guy has obviously had it sitting out this summer. The turning issue isn't an issue any more, just take a bit more muscle and a bit more practice in the tight spots doing the u's I feel way safer on that tank than I do on my katana, something about the weight and braking just make it a very comfortable fit. The weight itself makes me feel a bit more secure for some reason. However, according to kelly blue book mine's worth around $590 more if you don't account for the aftermarket pipe and filter. I want it but it's gonna need new rubber soon front and rear. It needs a new chain as well, and probably a whole lot more tlc than I have to offer to make it nice ![]() Must avoid temptation, only a couple good riding months left... Don't need, don't need... God I want it. Last edited by CheapBike; 08-07-2007 at 07:47 PM. |
