Default Bike stalls when i first start it

Hey guys, this is my first post. i hope this isn't a newbish post. i picked up a 1993 GSX-R 600 a few weeks ago. its seems to have an issue with going into first in the morning. I usaully wake up and go out and let her warm up for about 5-10 minutes. I roll it out onto the driveway and go to put it into first and it stalls, doesn't lurk or jerk forward, just shuts off. In order for me to get going i bring the rpms up to about 1.5-2k and slam it into first. i hate doing it and i've been avoiding riding it to prevent damage. it there a simple fix to this?? is it a clutch adjustment? when i do get it into gear it pulls forward like the cutch is grabbing but the clutch is depressed! its doesn't do it fast, but i can feel it pulling. its just so frustrating not to ride. any help would be appreciated, thank you so much.
