| Greetings, This is my first time here. Hi! I used to have an '06 Ninja ZX-6R and I loved it (it was my first bike). Incredibly, I've had them stolen three times since August of last year. Part of it is my fault, as I didn't lock it up, but I later got a LoJack installed, which didn't work (the third time), whatever. Anyway, with new resolve to lock up my bike so tight Houdini couldn't get it if he had a diamond saw, I'm thinking about getting a different bike. I've recently started thinking about the GSX-R 750. My question is: 1) Does anyone know about any problems with these bikes that I should be aware of? 2) Does anyone know if there are any differences between the '06 and '07 models? I'd like to get a discount if possible. 3) Any other impressions of this bike? Many thanks. By the way, if anyone is thinking about a Ninja 636, I definitely reccommend them, especially the blue ones! |

| ... ![]() | color me purple, but isn't the gsxr even MORE desirable as far as theiving bastards go? i get the feeling you're just going to ask for more theft attempts with that bike than with the 636. i think that '06 and '07 are almost identical - both have the gear indicator, slipper clutch, mirrors with blinkers, etc. |

| Yeah, I've pretty much resigned myself that someone is going to try to steal my bike. A 750 will tempt them, but I plan on getting a cover, a LoJack, a scorpio alarm and a kryptonite lock that I will use to secure it to a lamp post. If they can get through all that, they're pretty good. The funny thing is, I live in a neighborhood that has about 20-25 bikes parked on the street. The doormen in my area have never heard of another bike getting stolen except for mine.

| As long as it's insured. Who gives a rat's ass if it's stolen?

| Yeah, the insurance thing sucks. It can take months to get the check. Incredibly though, I asked my broker if the thefts would drive my rates up, and he said no. Kinda hard to believe. All I can say is that there should be a special place in hell for bike thieves. I don't have a bit of sympathy for any of them. |

| My son's ZX6r survived 3 thefts attempt. His disk lock was what stopped them each time! Last time a ZX9r that was beside our bikes, with no cover and no disk lock was stolen.

| Muscle Biker ![]() | One of the moderators on the Swiss forum where I'm active had his bike stolen last week. He was trying to sell it, and it was parked in front of a dealership. The thieves took it, hauled it about 400 yards away where they could strip it, and went to work. They were obviously professionals - they had tools and cutters to strip the bike quickly. The picture shows what was found the next day.
