I felt that my clutch was too stiff on my new GSXR 600, so I loosened it a bit. Once I reached 500miles, I brought it to the shop for the scheduled maintenance. The shop tightened it back up, and I thought, "Well, maybe this is the best way to have the clutch set up, so I'll try to get used to it." I only have to pull in the clutch like 1/8 in to shift between gears. The only problem is that sometimes shifting I pull it in 1/4 and end up riding the clutch to find the grabbing point in between gears. Also I swear almost every time I am shifting into 1st it goes into neutral no matter how much pressure I put on the shifter. When I shift from first to second the same problem...............NEUTRAL! This usually resluts in me revving the hell outta the bike because I think I would be taking off in 2nd gear, but am in neutral. I do have experience riding and I had no problems with my clutch before the maintenance, so I am going to loosen it up for a while. My main question is- Should I set the clutch to be STIFF like the shop had it? Or am I going to be putting myself in a bad habit with the more loose clutch? |
