Hey all! I grew up riding dirt bikes and quads, but when I turned 16 I sold them to buy a vehicle. Now that I'm about to graduate college and can afford to get a bike again I have every intention of riding again, this time on the street One of my buddies has recently bought a new gsxr 750 and now has his 97 gsxr 600 for sale. This has been the beginner bike for three of my other friends who have now all upped the bar to 750's or 1000's. After reading through these forums and others I have read over and over that any R type bike really isn't the ideal beginner bike. I have rode his old bike a little along with a new R6 and gsxr 600 and they seem to have the ability to get me in trouble a little faster than the older bike. So after my reading I have been seriously considering a GS500, but I'm having a hard time finding one anywhere close to me. I've scoured the net, but thats not getting me anywhere yet. I've never rode on one of the 500's so my question is how much more powerful is a older 600 compared to the newer 500? Probably quite a bit, but not having the option of riding both I'd like to hear some opiinions |
