Default throttle cables / sesors / etc

me again!

ok, bear with me on this, and let's try to stick to the technical bits for a while, m'kay? cool!

from what i can tell, on nearly all bikes there's nothing between the right-hand throttle grip and the throttle body cam except for cable, right? all of the tps sensors and other things are post-throttle-body-cam (i assume you know what cam i'm referring to), right? so, in order to desensitize the right hand grip, one would need to swap in a larger radius cam so that full twist on the grips only opens the butterflies half way (like 6,000 rpm) instead of WOT (15,000 rpm), correct? if all of the sensors are at or after that cam, then that keeps the ecu from getting confused.

so, IF that's the way the bikes are done, are the cams relatively easy to remove? one of my friends has machine shop equipment (and has good connections at local machine shops), so i can easily get a larger cam made for $100 or so.
