I guess I just don't see how people would want that much more power under their hands. My GS500 is hard enough to handle already, and I have about 5k mi on a (150cc) scooter as far as experience on two wheels. I guess I just feel most comfortable with the bike I have - I can easily top out at 120 (not that I'll ever go that fast! |

Rocketeer, that feeling is called "self-preservation", and it goes away after a while. You will get used to the power and the speed, and then you'll feel like it's okay to "push the envelope" a bit further. The key is to know where the real limits are, and not to push beyond those. In most cases, the bike can handle much more than the rider, but there are physical limits. At some point, the forces on the bike and rider exceed the forces holding the tires on the ground, and the result is ... messy.
