so it no longer sticks or hangs, i solved that issue. the bike is an ex500... this is a post i made on the ex500 forum..

part 16007 was stuck in the slide.. im not sure why.. never seen tht before. guessing that screws up the function of the needle... which in turn will cause some problems ive been seeing? kawasaki carburetor parts partsmanual fiche 1996 e3 ex500

and after...

i think i got it sorted out but im not sure. how touchy are these things to the choke after being started / its pretty muggy outside.. maybe high 70's and humid. Went to the garage to start up this morning... and it starte right up no choke. I turned the choke on, it idled up a tad bit then died. Started it up again... and it ran clean up to the upper rpm range, just didnt get warm enough to idle at the speed i set.. it was dwindling around 1k for a few seconds. Not sure how touch it is to the choke after its been started and running on its own. I started to add choke as it was idling at 1k and it started to die again... but it runs fine, the idle is consistent and it doesnt hang at high rpms anymore when revved. is this normal for this bike? figure everything is clean and new pilot jets as well.. maybe its running well now. i dunno. Rode it aroound and no issues whatsoever... ran great.. power wheelied even.

The choke is an "as needed" enricher. If it starts and idles good WITHOUT the choke, why would you then ADD some choke ??

Seems to me like you are creating your own problem.

Just let it warm up a bit........however it runs best........if that is with no choke then don't mess with it.

The temp. at which choke is required vaires from bike to bike.
When stone cold, mine requres a little bit no matter how hot it is outside.
YOURS apparently doesn't. Don't fight it.

lol.. yeah you're probably right. i never use the choke on my zx6r this time of year, only when it gets chilly, i MAY need it. Considering the bikes are always in a garage , it doesnt get that cold in there anyways.
