Cool Tire recommendations??!!

Hello all!!~ It's has been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd start a tire thread. I ride a 94 honda cbr 600 now and my front tire wear has started "cupping," a term used by the motorcycle shop. He suggests me to change it pretty soon. Does anyone have suggestions as to what brand/tire style I should get?? I want a tire that will provide me good traction, since it rains here alot and also something that doesn't wear out too fast. I have a Dunlop for a rear tire, so I should probably stay with the same brand~

Feel free to shoot out any recommendations you all may have!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Admittedly, my bike is in a different league than yours, but my experience to date has been:

- Bridgestone (original equipment) were not good. They didn't give me confidence.
- Continental RoadAttacks - excellent grip, excellent feedback, somewhat short lifespan (only about 4000 miles)
- Metzeler Roadtec Z6 - excellent grip, excellent feedback. Performance to date (~ 3500 miles) excellent.

When the Metzelers are ready for replacement, I'll buy another set of Metzelers. No questions asked.

Doesn't everyone want good traction and good wear? The question is what compromise do you seek? For good wear, I like the Pirelli Diablo Stradas or Avon's 45/46 combo. For better traction you'll have to go to a street/track tire like the Diablo Corsa. You need to decide where your priorities lie.

Cupping isn't uncommon and isn't a problem unless it creates headshake or something.

I am somewhat partial to Michelin, either pilot power for my gixxer or my pilot road for my SV.

Unless you're knee-dragging all the time, Pilot Road would be more than sufficient, offering good water-displacement, reasonable traction (again, no knee-dragging), and last a long time.

I was not too impressed with the Dunlop that came with my second-hand gixxer 600 so I replaced it with Pilot Power. Much better.

I highly recommend tires. Really helps smooth out the ride.

I use Metzeler sportec M1's. I love the things.

I guess my priorities would be mainly good traction in wet circumstances. I live in Oregon, and it rains a lot. I don't intentionally ride in the rain, but you never know... I don't want to be caught in the rain with bad rain tires. Next thing would be good wear. I don't race or anything, so I'd rather have good wear than top-of-the-line traction.

In that case, I'd recommend Michelin Pilot Road.
