Default Think it's true?

I was looking around just thinking about what I would be getting myself into in a year or two if I decided to trade in/sell the Buell. The market has gotten pretty good with the street fighters, standard sport bikes etc. I was checking out the specs and saw that the new Speed triple has 130hp and some decent torque. I have read reviews saying that the bike pulls hard and is very aggressive, maybe too aggressive for noobs andmaybe even some experienced riders. I saw the specs on the new FZ1 and saw the factory claim is 150hp. I know factory claims are at the crank and sometimes a few hp off, but this is alot of hp. I am wondering is Yamaha hasn't once again inflated something a bit too far. (Remembering the R6 17,500 RPM claim) 150hp from a sport standard is pretty intense and would hate for anyone to jump on one of these thinking it was comparable to a real sport bike and then getting let down.

The previous FZ1 made around 120-125 at the wheel, so I'd say 130 or so from the new one. That's about 20 up from my Bandit, so I'm sure keeping the front down on an upright bike is a constant task. Here's a dyno chart with jetting and a slipon and then with a header:

That S3 is a heck of a bike, too. I've been drooling all over the recent CW review on it.

Wow, 130hp at the rear would certainly make a hard pulling bike. So I guess they are pretty close to their claim in that case.

I'll check out the S3. Is the CW review available online.

the speed triple is awesome, I was riding behind one coupla months ago and I saw first hand how good the bike is. Handles pretty good and pulls out of the turns like a locomotive. At the top of the hill I talked to the guy who was riding it and he said that he's very happy with it. As if I didn't see.
