It is an industry figure from new bike sales. It does not take into account used bike/private sales figures.

I think 3/44 of you actually offered an opinion to his question.

Go sit on all three, the one that you think feels the best will be your best choice-should you go with a supersport vs. something smaller.

I registered just to add this point that I didn't see in the thread.

Unfortunately people consider styling of a bike to be more important than buying one that fits their riding abilities (or inabilities). With all the videos on the internet of people doing over 100mph, big wheelies, and stoppies, etc., many potential buyers are fooled into thinking you can hop on and ride like some of the idiots in these videos. Not the case at all!

I'm also a fan of learning to crawl before you walk and I did it myself. I started with a '72 Honda CL100. I had to make it run before I learned to ride it. Then I stumbled upon another Honda (mid-80's, 500-ish) and rode it around for a bit. Now I am considering the same bikes as the original poster and I think I am going to go with the Suzuki.

First bike...start small. That's my 2 cents.

That two cents is worth more like a buck twenty-five, I'd say!

Welcome, baxt3r. Good to have you.

You probably no more about bikes than most riders, since you had to learn. Nice post too!

Too answer the original post, there is no intelligent advice on which of the three superbikes you name would be a best choice for a novice rider. Sorry. Many new riders do not let intelligence enter into the choice of a first bike.

The only way some one could give you an intelligent answer to your question, would be if they had put a significant amount of time on all 3 bikes. I'm thinking there aren't a whole lot of people that have done that, and even if you do find someone that has done that, chance are that there style of riding will be different than what your likely to develop, so there impressions wouldn't be that helpful.
All three are great bikes, but none of them are bikes to learn to ride on. Even if you don't wind up hurting yourself, you will just learn bad habits. If you want to become a good rider in the shortest amount of time, buy a slower bike, one that you have to push to keep up, and doesn't magnify your mistakes.

if you want a faired IE sport bike, you may want to look at the sv650S..it is a good beginer bike, and actually a good bike for experienced riders as well..it has lots of useable torque and although it does not have the top end speed it has plenty of speed if your just starting to ride... i thinki tops out at around 135-140 for the S MODEL...I your set on getting an inline four its hard to go wrong with a suzuki gsxr..

If you do it on the street, you'll eventually land yourself in jail with an impounded bike.

I race at the tracks not on the streets, that also goes for stunts. Thanks for your concern though.
