Default red light on!! and F1 showing where the temp should be

ive got an 01 gixxer 6 it is fuel injetcted right??
i just put a k,n on it and after 10 min in the free way red light came on and its showing a F1 blinking where the temp is.
anyone have any idea what that means??

and how can you tell if your bike is fuel injected..
i took off the air box and it looked like two carburatiors..
but the gauge has a FI on it so i thought it was fuel injected.
HELP

Holy cow, where to begin!

If you don't even know wether your bike is injected or carberated, what the hell are you doing messing with the induction?? Further, how can anyone spend that much money on anything without knowing what you're buying? Didn't it come with an owners manual? Didn't you read a single review of the bike? The first one I found tells you exactly what you need to know:

http://www.600supersport.com/reviews...suzgsxr600.htm

Take the filter off and try running the bike again. Then, figure out what you're doing before you do it. With the huge quantity of info available at your fingertips, there's no excuse for guessing with this stuff.

Sheesh!

Yeah, seems to be getting more typical than not these days!

Stevie, are you referring to the article I linked? If so, that price was from 3 years ago. Also, according to the specs in said article, it is in fact injected.

There's being new, and there's being foolish. Changing parts without knowing what will happen is foolish. Not knowing what you ride is even more foolish.

No hating, just reality. You have some learning to do.

Not looking to rule anything. I guess we have different definitions of "cool". Mine involves responsible riders who have intimate knowledge of their bikes and don't buy for chick-magnet-factor.

You bought into the hype. AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Leave the bike alone. The stock filter is FINE for now. Stock GSX-Rs have a lot more to offer than your skills at this point. My skills too. Learn how to RIDE that bad boy FIRST before dumping wads of cash into it to make it "faster". Take MSF classes. Go to a track day (and there are lots of tracks in Texas) and get some lessons from some pros.

A wise man told me once that a slow rider on a fast bike is still slow.

Nope. You are right there. BUT, in order to keep your wallet in check, you should know the basics of maintenance on your motorcycle. The local stealer, uh, I mean dealer will try and screw you over left and right. ESPECIALLY if you are ignorant to the bike's problems and solutions to fixing those problems.

By default, most everyone I know who rides becomes a mechanic of sorts. It just takes some time to learn the correct way to do the maintenance. Learn it and it will be YOU who has the enlightenment. You will also be able to say that YOU repaired your OWN machine. I wrench on bikes all of the time. It is not that hard. Sometimes frustrating, but not hard.

Get the manual bro, read it, memorize it. The more knowledgeable you are, the better off you will be.

Well, a rear stand is a necessity these days when owning a sportbike. You gotta have one to get the maintenance done. Look on the web for ideas on how to build one. Several guys I know have built their own for around $20.

Before I got my rear paddock stand I used to pull the bikes back wheel off the ground by tipping it over its side stand and kicking a block of wood under the swing arm.
Done the job until I got the stand.
