| my two main riding partners have '05 gixxer 600s. I was pushing an '05 M50 and so was constantly getting my *** handed to me... in response I bought an R-1. I must say after hoping from my bike to one of theirs, the suzuki seems almost pedestrian. The GSX's seem a little easier to ride hard... I am way more likely to push them over 11K rpm, and their low speed steering is easier... but the yamaha makes doing tripple digits seem effortless... not that i would know of course. |

| none... just talking... excercising the freedoms so many have dies to allow me to have... expressing me views... revelling in the pride of ownership, and the comraderie of my fellow two wheeled denizens... you know... being a normal american human being... do you , Sir, take issue with that?

| Triple digits. Wow. Now you can come to BeaveRun and see what kind of laptimes you can put down. LOL. Be careful buddy. Triple digits are nice but anyone can twist a throttle.

| No doubt... acheiving a speed of 100MPH is no big deal, and something i try to do only on rare occasions. However if you are driving a vehicle that wil not do it... say a 96 ford f-150 and you jump in a car that will... say a 98 pontiac bonneville it feels great and you just have to do it once.... not saying you will do it regularly after that, or at all for that matter... but knowing that you can does wonders for the psyche.

| Fourth gear and illegal ![]() | Congrats on the new bike! That's like me going from my 250 to my Gixxer, lol. For a while (before I got the Gixxer), the mustang was down and out. So I was constantly riding my little "struggle to go 60mph 250" bike. When I got the mustang back running, I was so happy I could do 80mph again on the freeway! lol

| congrats on the new bike. My two riding buddies have R1s and I've tryed their bikes many times. It's a cool bike, one of the best, but still my 600 is no slouch, I keep up with the R1 and when it gets tighter, I'm ahead. I agree on the speed issue, I've topped mine when I got it, since then I'm relaxed and don't think about it. But man, it mas tempting to find a place and wack it open at first.
