Default Got a New Jacket Today

I've been looking for a good sportbike jacket that's not too flashy and matches rather well with my bike. I have been using my Power Trip jacket since the M50 days, but it's just not a form fitting article and bunches up too much on the Gixxer. And the ballooning is getting ridiculous.

Cycle Gear opened up recently near my area and I decided to take a trip into the store. It's a fantastic store; much more than the dealer could show. The best part is that they let you try out stuff (including wearables) and exchange with no problems. So during the middle of this past week I bought an ICON Motorhead jacket as shown here:

I returned it today. While it was definitely a top quality jacket, I really needed one with some sort of zippered removable panels (front or side) due to the ever changing South Florida temperatures and humidity levels. I also wanted front pockets (hand warmers for you cold weathered states riders). The zippered vents were just not going to cut it. And after trying the Motorhead I found that I wanted somewhat of a collar to keep drafts down.

I found the Joe Rocket Blaster 3.0 and it's a perfect match for me (and the bike!). The side panels from the inner sleeves up around the underarms and down the waist side zipper off with ease to reveal mesh; yet it leaves a nice leather front panel in tact. It has the front pockets and the collar is exceptionally comfortable due to it's padded neck design. I really like how it fits and looks good with the bike's theme. Here are a couple of pics ...

Another neat thing is that I can wear either my black Shoei helmet or the white HJC and the jacket seems to bring everything together. I'm going to upgrade the spine protection to a CE rated one too.

Just out of curiosity, what type of jacket do you own? ... and with what bike??
