Default Should I look into this?

I've got an opportunity to possibly pick up a 2003 sv1000s. its got 18K miles on the clock. I dont' think the bike is as well maintained as I would like, but its been treated decent.

price: 5,000

The bike is in good condition, it was dropped and the fairing cracked, and its being replaced with a new one. there is a bit of comestic damage to one side of the engine cover. Is this a good deal?

Sounds a bit high to me. I'd offer $3500-4000. What're they going for new?

Edit: CycleTrader shows them at $5-6000. I'd still offer $4500 or so since it needs work.

they list for like 8600 new, but they go for way less than that from what I hear. The miles make me wanna offer way less, but my buddy is the one selling it, and I know hes not gonna go down too much.

Sounds kind of high to me too. You can buy a brand new 06 for $7600. Look here. www.larsonscycle.com
