| I was lookin around the forum to find out if there's anyway i can put a wider wheel on a 97 600 katana. i don't like the skinny wheel on it now. i know you can go wider a certain amount with the tire, but it's barely noticeable. i've seen same katanas with wide wheels. would i have to change the swingarm? or can i just buy a wider rim. if anyone knows how i can go about doin this i would appreciate the help.

The 4.5" wide wheel will accomodate some of the 170/60 sport and sport touring radials with approval of the tire mfg of the fitment. Tire will be about .8" wider than a 150 or about 1.2" wider than the 140/80 that came on a 97 Kat 600. I'm running a 150/70 on my GS500 with just barely enough clearance to the brake torque rod. Also check clearance to the chain/chain guard. The 170/60 will be smaller in diameter than a 140/80 OEM so there should be no problem with radial clearance. Or maybe just go ask here at a good Kat forum: http://katriders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15230
