Hi guys, just a quick question about law enforcement in different countries. Wots it like in yours? I live in the uk and there are many laws with reference to motorcycles 1- your bike must have a mot(ministry of transport) test each year to make sure its safe and comforms to regs. 2- your no. Plate must be of a certain size(64mm high letters &3/8 between them) 3- exhaust must be stamped as conforming to regs to be road legal. 4- if under21 you have to take a 2 part test( pt1=cbt compulsory bike test) you can then ride up to 125cc with l-plates. When you pass pt2 you can ride any motorcycle as long as its restricted to 33bhp after 2 years the restrictors can be taken off. If over21 you can take direct access and ride unlimitted bike and power straight away. 5- if caught speeding you can get a fine and points on your license. This can vary between 3 and five(depending on speed and speed restriction)once you get to 12 points you are banned from driving any type of transport for12months. The max speed limit is 70mph on motorways or dual carriage ways. It has been known for someone to go to jail for doing 152mph on the motorway for six months and a two year ban. This was his first offence. Do we have it harsh or is it the same everywhere? Edit by Louis: I just can't stand all uppercase posts! |
