Hi there everyone I own a K2 GSXR1000, what a great bike. But i thought you might like to know that there maybe some bikes out there which have different front caliper pistons side to side. I know this because mine has. This has only come light because i brought some braided hoses for my bike. Now the bike has been rested over the lovely winter so i fitted these a couple of wks ago. but the front brakes seemed to be binding after a ten mile trip the left hand disc was blue and hot. After check that the pads were free i rang my local dealer, they told me it may not be covered under warranty as corrosion and lubeing up are covered. But at 3200 miles dry use only even this country (uk) cannot corrode these surly. So i went to a local independent who i know . He clean out the calipers and stripped then down removeing the pistons. "You've got missed matched calipers on this mate" was the phone massege. So back to dealer. One wk latter and dealer conferms pistons are different side to side. Suzuki Uk say this will not cause a problem but they will change them as a goodwill claim and i quote "because you have complained about it" . Now i am sure they are right this will not cause a problem. But try getting the idea of different pistons out of your head the next time you are braking hard into a corner !!!!!!!! Any way i am still waiting for the new pistons as there are none avaliable. (the dealer has told me they had a Busa with they same thing ) Anyway the summer is coming and so hopefully it will all done soon and play time will comenece. Have fun everyone cheers |
