How much for a used GSXR600? - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

I'm looking for a used 600, preferable late 90's and up, with under 10k miles on it (preferably 5k or under). I've found that most are going for between $4000 and $5000. Is this about right? Can I expect to find one for between $3000 and $4000, or is that unreasonable?

I bought my 2001 GSXR for $4500 w/ only 8200 miles on it. KBB Value on it is $5000. So I think I got a good deal. If you find a GSXR600 for less than $4000, make sure it's in good riding condition. There are a few out there for that price.

I paid $5k for my '01 GSX-R600 with 8300mi on it. It came with a few mods on it tho. Smoked windscreen, Yoshimura RS-3 Bolt-on, Power Commander, Wheel Striping. I believe KBB was $4800 but didn't mind paying the xtra $200 for the mods.

I paid $4000 for my 2000 GSX-R600, 16894 miles on it. I got a real good deal, I think. One light rash on the left tail, which I replaced with a panel I got off eBay [40 bucks]. The bike has been really good to me. With a late 90s bike, I don't know about expecting under 5k, or even under 10k miles on it. I had a habit of looking on eBaymotors under Completed Items, to see what a lot of them went for. And of course, there is always Craigslist, which, if I didn't tell you already, is where I bought my bike from a guy in Austin, TX back in May 2005.

When you go check out a bike, talk to the person and ask some random questions, because most of the time, I think you can tell a lot about how they took care of the bike [if at all], and whether or not they have squidly tendencies. I wouldn't want to buy a bike from someone who I suspected was showing off, racing, or stunting with it.
