Default Just a little info needed....

As some of you may know (some dont) I am new to the site and have my heart set on buying a SV1000 in the spring. I have a few questions I was hoping I could get some help with. How does the Sv1000 compare to..say, a Gixxer 600,750 ? And also how does it compare to other 1000's. Not just in speed, but overall performance. Im not getting a 1000 to fly around on for the most part. But i like the thought of having the power if i want it. I take a lot of trips, most averaging around 2.5 to 3 hours. The most popular is from Maine over the white mountains to Vermont to see my father.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You'll certainly be more comfortable on an SV... well it has a slightly more upright position then a Gixxer. But then again, for Gixxerdale, 2 to 3 hours is just coffee run, his trips are much longer and that's on a Gixxer1K.

The SV1 will have more useable power than the Gixxer6, since it's tuned for more low and mid torque. It's probably comparable to the 750 in total power, but again it's available at a lower rpm. That's a good thing for real-world riding.

I think you'd really like the bike. Plus, I don't think there are many here with one. You could give us a review.

Thanks again Rowdy. Thats another big reason i want an SV. I want a bike that not many other people have, but looks good at the same time.
