Default Jacket Sizing help???????????

I need help picking the right size jacket for me. I am 6'4" eigh about 175lbs. So I am tall and slim. I got my arm length measured the other day and it was 37" long and my chest was only 33". I want to buy an Icon Motorhead jacket from online because it would save me alot of money. But I cant figure out which size jacket to get that would fit nicely on me. The jacket that satisfies my arm length is an XXXL but the chest on those are huge. So if anyone else has any advice please let me know.

Is there anywhere local you can try one on, then buy it online?

And if the answer to SC's question is yes......maybe bring some on line adds in to the local one's and try to get a price match.

I don't think anyone will match the lower prices from an online dealer, but you may try. Your best bet is to try one on locally and buy online unless the price difference with tax locally and shipping online isn't all that much. if it was like $20 or less I'd just buy it locally and not have to wait for the shipping and return problems if the jacket has a defect.

But it's up to you.

I'm pretty much built like you, same weight but 2 inches taller and my arms 2 inches shorter. Are you sure 33" is the correct chest measurement?? Mine measures 44" and my waist about 33".

Anyway, from my experiences buying both riding gear and regular clothing I'd have to say you shouldn't buy anything over the internet if you can't try it on somewhere first. When I was looking for a jacket, I knew I wanted textile but had no particular brand in mind. I was going to buy whatever fit me. I ended up with a Fieldsheer "Zero Condition" jacket on sale for something like $150. Besides fitting pretty well, it has lots of adjustments.

I bought my icon from www.speedwerks.com and I cant tell you how great they are. My measurement was from my neck to my wrist and they sent me the correct jacket, couldnt have a better fit really. Laura at speedwerks will set you up. I bought a few things from them and everything has been just great. I obviously recommend them! Just tell her you need to figure out what size and she will let you know what measurements you need for the company. anyway good luck! oh yea they have the best prices I have found also.

I am also looking for a jacket. Most site have sizing chart that tell you how to measure for different jacket size. Just do your homework online before you decide what size you need.

Yeah, if at all possible, the best thing you could do is try it on in the store and then buy it online. I got my Alpinestars One-o-One from Bike Bandit, after everything it cost as much as the store did before tax (about $26), and it came in three days.
