I just bought a 2006 Stratoliner (see e-bay link below), I am not new to Yamaha's I have a 2000 1100 V-Star that is now for sale, I don't need 2 bikes. The seller had it listed for $8,450.00 OBO he had 2 $ 7,500 offers but did not take it, I got there to look at the bike and he had a battery charger on it charging it up. I told him that a fuel injected bike has to have a good battery..etc.. While I was test driving it my buddy also laid on the battery issue. When I got back I offered him $ 7,400 cash, because a battery was going to cost me $100.00. I also said if you run it on E-bay they are going to hit you for about 3% over $200.00+ to sell it. He took my offer. Enough about my wheeling and dealing. The bike had no manuals or literature. I have downloaded the Owners manual and am looking for a Service Manual (free The bike has the passing lamp, and some bulbs are burnt out, anybody know what bulbs they take. I have looked on Yamaha's parts website but it only shows the head light. And as you my have noticed it needs a windshield. I have been reading past post about that all ready. Does anyone have any FYI's, recommendations on what to check or keep an eye out for on this bike, or does N don'ts, it has 4,900.00 miles I am planning on running Castrol Motorcycle oil in it, I have 10w40 & 20w50. I am probably going to put a pipe and PCIII on it down the road. What a toque Monster The bike was advertised as a Stratoliner, I believe it to be an "S" model how can I tell the difference, I know the "S" has extra chrome. eBay Motors: Yamaha (item 170289168461 end time Jan-01-09 11:23:00 PST) Thanks Mark Fort Worth, Texas |
