Hey all, This for those of you who are looking to add ape hangers to your roadliner and or stratoliner. I have custom installed 16" apehangers on my 2006 roadliner converted to a stratoliner. You need to get steel braided cables along with your modification. At least a minimum of 10" over stock length. You will need the front brake lines, clutch line, and both the throttle and return. It turned out great. I am about 6 ft tall and have rode a couple of 500 plus weekends before I installed the apes, and my shoulders after a while would get sore, from leaning forward. Now that I installed the apes, I have no problems at all. It is like sitting in a lounge chair. My arms are almost straight out from my shoulders maybe an inch lower. The bike is much easier to handle even though it is the best balanced bike on the market. I have attached a few pictures of the bike. Just an FYI, I am currently adding a luggage trunk to the rear, like the Harly ultra classic's. I will let you know when It is complete and I will post pictures. Heading to Panama City for Thunder Beach Sept 20-27-2008. Have a great one, if you have any questions or would like to have your bike fitted with apes, let me know. |
