I love'em, how tall are you? I am 6'2" and from the moment I sat on this bike, I felt like it was tailored for me. The only time I don't like the handle bars so much is in a very tight low speed turn, they are so wide, but other than that, they are perfect. I also love the huge controls. I have ginormous hands, and they are perfect. I have heard people complain about how big the controls are. I have a smaller friend, and he cannot even get his legs around the bike. I used to feel out of shape, which I am, when I had to stop about every 35-50 miles to stretch my legs. But I ride with other guys, and my 17 yr old fit daughter, and they feel the same. So it makes me feel better. I feel good with about 200-250 miles in a day. Keep in mind that is 200 miles of backroads and canyon roads, not highways. I usually plan a place to eat in the middle, and a stop or 2 in between to stretch. I am sure I could ride more if I had to, but that is very comfortable for me. I did california in 2 trips like that, L.A. to Napa and back in 6 days, then NAPA to Crater Lake, OR and back in 6 days. All back roads. A few days worked out about 250 miles, a few days less than 200, 200 is the sweet spot for me. Last edited by ragboy; 07-29-2008 at 04:26 PM. |

It sounds like you have a great group of riding buddies... and did you mean your daughter riders her own bike? If so that is very cool. My 9 yr old has really surprised me how much she wants to ride with me... She is all the time saying lets take the bike to "wherever". The only ones around me that I know that ride are my bro inlaw and nephew. They dont ride near enough for me... But Ive got alot more time on my hands than they do. It seems after about 35 or so miles is when my butt and back start to give me problems... I always want to sit farther back in the seat to try and get comfortable. What Ild really like to have is a seat with a backrest like my bro inlaws! Thats the best seat ive felt, but his bars are alot closer to me too... Its a honda 1300C. My parents took all the grandkids camping today and tomorrow, and I was fantasizing that it would be great to hop on the bike and go anywhere for 2 days... I can hear ya already,"so just do it!" LOL Well I if I had money to waste on a decent hotel so I could sleep well and eat I just might. Being here in south western Indiana I dont have any friends in a days ride either or i would go crash on their couch... Excuses, i know. Guess im getting old or acting like it anyways... Yes, my daughter is 17, and I got her a V-Star 250, and she rides it well. Here is a pic I took of her with me on our first ride, after all the practice. ![]() I have the corbin seat, with the removable backrest, that works great. I can use it for a passenger, or myself, and it fits in my saddle bag. My 16 yr old daughter rides with me all the time, and she uses this, but my younger kids, I use the yamaha sissy bar. Here is a pic with the backrest: ![]() And without. ![]() It can slide in and out of either position, and is very sturdy/stable, and is adjustable with an allen wrench. |

That is a great pic of your girl. I hope you guys have many safe miles ahead of you.. Its really cool when you can find something like this you can both have fun to have your bonding time... So how come your younger kids use the star sissy bar? The bike looks really sharp with the corbin seat and the bags. I like the lay down plate too... And what about that pretty sticker under your gas cap where can i get one of those??? |

The sticker is now GONE! I should take more pics now. I plan on getting rear passenger platforms, just haven't decided if I want to go yamaha billet, and upgrade front also, and then the rear to match. Also, I am trying to decide if I want lindy multi bar. Decisions, decisions. I had a corbin seat before, and loved it. I really like the looks of the corbin over all others. I don't like the way the mustang seat looks FOLDED/CREASED, you know what I mean? I like the lines of the corbin, and had experience with its comfort. |

Well your corbin really looks custom.. I dont know what a lindy bar is?! Im sitting here with my wallet trying to decide whether i should bite the bullet and get the baron risers... The one thing i really dont like is the exposed wires. I just dont want a sore thumb out front that looks out of place. I know it sounds anal... One thing i think i would like is a break away throttle control.I think thats what it is called. I noticed that on the way home tonight(not in the dark), on the 4way, it would be nice to set it and relax a bit more. I have the wide crampbuster and it is really nice, but I seem to be adjusting it alot and sometimes it can kinda get in the way when im grabbing the brake and pulling the clutch. Maybe I do have small hands...At least my feet are average..LOL Ild love to have bags like yours but I didnt even know anything aobut liners when i went to buy and so I didnt even look at a strat. Now I wish i had all the goodies..lol Ive had my out for a bag to fit on the back of the sissy bar, but i dont have the luggage rack so it would have ot hold itself up. I dont want to scratch the fender.... Speaking of scratching the fender... dang its a close one to pull the star sissy off.... I already have two little scratches, one on each side |

y, so much to do, I also want the braided lines. I have the cobra pipes and patrick racing big air kit also with the cobra fuel controller. Sound incredible and runs great. Here is a good picture of the pipes, sound as nice as they look. |

Cool, did you get the fuel programmer with them? I have the Roadhouse slipon with shark tail tip. I left the baffle in and it is very low and very loud when you WOT it... Cruising is perfect not loud at all. I think the braided lines woudl look good too. I wish you could slide some braided material over the wires that get exposed with the Baron risers. Im so on the fence here! I just noticed you have the star passing lights... how do you like them? Do they make a big diff. at night? I like that we havea switch for them... gadgets are goood! Oh yea what about getting the star crash bars? When I bought my bike there was another roadliner with crash bars that I thought looked different and really cool but i didnt ask if they were star or cobra. Ild love to be able to stretch my legs straighter sometimes... Ive always wondered why someone doesnt design some kind of stirrup for the heel of your boot to rest in so you can stretch out?!?! Maybe its too much like birthing stirrups..lol Hey I dont mind, just dip em in some chrome and they are good to go!!!

I have the cobra controller, but want to get my bike dyno tuned, and everyone I speak to with a dyno, recommends the PCIII, so I may change. The lights don't make much diff at night, since the headlight is like a TRAIN light, but makes a big difference in people seeing you from the front. The lindby multi bar is a crash bar with a footrest built right in. Just not sure if I like the hard corners. Hey all, This for those of you who are looking to add ape hangers to your roadliner and or stratoliner. I have custom installed 16" apehangers on my 2006 roadliner converted to a stratoliner. You need to get steel braided cables along with your modification. At least a minimum of 10" over stock length. You will need the front brake lines, clutch line, and both the throttle and return. It turned out great. I am about 6 ft tall and have rode a couple of 500 plus weekends before I installed the apes, and my shoulders after a while would get sore, from leaning forward. Now that I installed the apes, I have no problems at all. It is like sitting in a lounge chair. My arms are almost straight out from my shoulders maybe an inch lower. The bike is much easier to handle even though it is the best balanced bike on the market. I have attached a few pictures of the bike. Just an FYI, I am currently adding a luggage trunk to the rear, like the Harly ultra classic's. I will let you know when It is complete and I will post pictures. Heading to Panama City for Thunder Beach Sept 20-27-2008. Have a great one, if you have any questions or would like to have your bike fitted with apes, let me know. |
