Default 12v point installation

Greetings, I have a 2006 roadliner midnight. I want to install a 12v power point by the quick release windshield, I am looking for an easy way to get power without going to battery. Any info would be appreciated
thanks kent

How much current do you need? The wiring harness won't provide much with it's thin gauge. If it's just for phones, gps, etc., you can tap in about anywhere in the lighting circuits.

Welcome Budone9,

There was a link to the service manual on this site not to long ago. That may be the first place to look if no one offers an easier solution.

If you don't have passing lights you can use the passing lamp wiring.
That way you'll be able to use the switch on the right grip to turn the 12v plug on-off.

The wires for the passing lights are inside the headlight housing.

There's a guy on ebay that sells a great cd rom shop manual for your bike:

If you expect to run any kind of power from that plug, like a sig lighter. You will need to go back to the battery. Most of the wiring on that bike is small gauge and won't handle much current.
