Default pipes air and poping

I have a 2006 Strat with PCIII and K&N high flow air filter with 3" roadburner pipes 02 not hooked up. My bike has 9K miles on it and runs GREAT, I get 33-36 in town and 44-50 highway as long as I keep below 68mph and easy on gas. Bike runs best on 91 oct but will use 89 ok. Last trip I took bike went from below sea level 120F to 9700 ft 17F and never missed a beat. I did 6000 miles in two weeks, the bike is great. There are very few downloads at powercommanders website for the Stratoliner so the one I use in lue of paying for custom dyno tune was Cobra longshots with aftermarket air filter and 02 not hooked up. This download works very well for me my plugs are burning clean and bike never barks or pops on decel. IF you do not have your pipes already look at the 3" Roadburners they look/sound great on Strat just make sure you get the pipe for your bike roadliner and Stratoliner pipes are two lengths. My only grip is gas tank to small and needs a 6th gear. RIDE SAFE. I have noticed if I run low octane gas I will get some poping on decel and between shifts after coming off freeway but only if I use below 89 fuel.

MMILLETT
Hi everyone! Seems like a really nice site
I picked up my Midnight Roadliner a week ago, just had to have the black one. I rode a couple before buying this one and both had cobra pipes on em. One set was long and the other short. The short ones are too loud for my tastes. Ive already put 2435km on her and this weekend I'll be piping and fueling her. I decided to go with the Vance&Hines 2into1 and fuel pack. Leavin the airfilter stock for now but when they finally get around to makin that Amsoil nanofiber filter for the Roadliner I'll give it a try. It's supposed to filter down to 2 microns, with no oil, and blow with compressed air to clean.Oh yeah the point err question, has anyone switched to synthetic oil yet? I've changed it once already but just plain oil, now I'm switching over to Amsoil 20w50. I ran it from a 1000km in my 01FZ1 (well I started with Mobil 1 then switched to Amsoil) and she"s got 104678km now with NO problems. Anyway MMILLETT is there anything I should watch out for while performing this "pipe & fuelpack" exercise? Your advice is welcomed! sorry for the long post, got a little carried away...

I've switched over to Amsoil and love it. Much quieter and smoother than before. Not sure about cooler as it's pretty cool here right now, but I suspect it will run cooler. I have a PCIII, PR BAK, and V&H pipe (cobra exhaust for sale in the for sale section). The bike runs AMAZING and I had it dyno'd @ 98.23 hp and 117.19 ft/tq

Finally, some intelligent help! (Sorry Cobra, your answer guy suck!)

H'okay-- I've got an '06 Roadliner Midnight and utterly ADORE the bike. Excellent styling, enough torgue to pull a virgin's panties off, etc. 'Nuff said about that.

My one beef? A huge-giant anime-sized chrome exhaust cannon on a bike that's working toward a total black-out? Nope, not seeing it. Put on the Roadburner/HK 3" Roadpro Blackhawks; shotgun-style, black ceramic coating, SWEET looking pipes. Had a little grief installing by myself (not recommended, sucker a friend to help if you go that route!) and installed the Patrick Racing air kit and a Cobra Fi2000R.

Watch me now, here's where the problem comes in, and where I appeal to you guys (and ladies) for help. I'm a rider, not a tuner, and can't afford to rent time on a dyno even if there was one within three hours of here. Cobra is about as helpful as a bicycle to an oyster on the settings (their email guy said, in essence "fiddle with it" then never wrote back to any of my replies. The box comes preset from Cobra for stock running gear, has three pages of instructions and a pat on the back, but I can't be certain I'm in the sweet spot with the pot settings.

SO!

Has anyone got experience with this particular setup, or one similar? (Roadburner Pro's, air by Patrick Racing and Cobra Fi2000R?) I'll buy you a beer if you can give me some indication as to whether my "by the butt settings" are in fact accurate to where it should be per dyno? Oh, and you gotta drive to Louisiana to collect.

Did I mention I freaking adore my Roadliner?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Matter of fact I have a question that my local yamaha shop seems to not care to answer regarding the back seat.

I have the comfort solo seat. Yahama DOES make a pillion to match yes?
Does it use the same bracket?

I was wondering if that seat is narrower in the front then the stock seat?

Did you know that the speedo/odo is about 8% optomistic ?
So subtract 8% from your mileage.

"My only gripe is gas the tank is too small and the bike needs a 6th gear.
" (kinda)

Can't fix the too small gas tank but some guys are changing the pulley & belt to a smaller 65 tooth from the stock 70 tooth for some lower rpm's.

Some folks are putting a larger tire on the back for taller overall gearing.
A 215/60-17 is the most common mod.

Gentleman Rook

I just purchased my 07 Roadliner Midnight and love it but I have alot of the same issues as other people on here.

I am looking to do my exhaust / air / fuel manager, just wanted to know how you like the road pro blackhawks. I think that they look great but I'm a bit concerned that they are going to be too quiet.

Thank you for your input.
