I don't want to get them UNLESS they work real good at night helping me to see the deer. Do they just help the cars see you or do they help you see the road ? JJ

| I live in the Michigan woods and I wouldn't ride at night without them. They definitely increase your ability to see the sides of the road and also increase your visibility to others. They've saved my butt from possible collisions with wild animals on several occasions. Franklyspeaking |

| Rowdy asked "What, pray tell, are "passing lamps"?" They are extra lighting that is mounted next to the headlight. Now that's what I wanted to hear Frankly. As I get older it's harder to see at night and I need all the help that I can get ! Does it take common bulbs like the H3 ? JJ

| Make a tremendous difference at night... you may want to alter the wiring so that the low beams are on all the time and the high beams operate with the switch..... however, they are a PITA to install.....

| More detail.... The lamps come wired to operate together (two bulbs in one lamp). By opening the lamp and reconnecting the wires, you can have the low beam bulbs come on with your running lights and then use the switch on the handlebar to activate the bright bulbs. For some reason Yamaha had them wired together. Buck (from the delphi forum), originally posted this. |

| Thanks for the info. That makes sense to make the change. I'm used to always running the light bar along with the running lights so that's how I'll do it also.
