Well as for comfort the Venture wins . As for handling and power the Strat will kill any Royal. The Royals are great bikes and my wife still has a limited edition Palomino that is awsome to look at. The Royals like the revs and can get out but not like a Liner can. Also the liner is much better for handling as the yamaha boys got it right with the center of gravity on this one
Here is a pic of my wifes Palomino for kicks. It's the bike up front of all the other Royals

How long can you stay in the saddle on the Strat as opposed to the Royal?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? What's your weight? Inseam? Does any of that affect comfort in your opinion? Also, any issues with the seat? Can they be corrected by aftermarket?

Well I really haven't had the Strat long enough to tell with only 1600 miles or so on it. I think I've ridden a 200 mile day or two but that doesn't help much. I've done a couple 700+ mile days with my Venture on trips to Key West and Yellow Stone. I'm 6'1" at 193 lbs. I did not like the stock seat on the Strat and went with a Mustang. I think I could ride this set up all day like I did the Venture. My wife says the Mustangs rear is as comphy as a stock Venture seat and that says alot. I have a friend that has an "05" Royal Star Tour Deluxe and went on a long trip and he said the stock seat liked to killed his rear. He went with a Corbin and now loves it. I think either bike will do all dayers but you just have to find a combo that fits you.

Got my midnight 2/17. Just got the 600 mile tune up and had highway lights and engine guards installed. Looks and ride awesome. More than I expected.

Hi all. I have had an 06 Roadliner S, smoke and bronze package. So far i have only been able to put a set of 3" Hard Chrome "shotgun" pipes and a power commander on it. I plan on adding a Patrick Racing intake as soon as funds allow. I LOVE THIS BIKE, and rainy days are depressing. I live very close to work, so I only have about 1600 miles so far, with no problems. The sound is great and the power is awesome. I'm looking forward to summer.

Cool I have one...

I have a 2006 Roadliner Midnight..I just hit the initial 500 mile mark. (I've only had it for about 4 weeks and the weather sucked for 2 of them), I live in Virginia, the Richmond area. I fell in love with this bike on the test ride...
Currently have a Mustang solo seat with back rest and passanger pillion. My risers, Kuryakin single shift lever (The heel shifter just gets in my way), Brake pedal cover, and slotted shift linkage should be here any day. I have also changed the mirrors and installed the quick release windshield. I will be getting a sissy bar with matching Mustang studded pad for when my better half rides with me and the rear fender rack for when she doesn't...I will prabably add leather bags later on too for the long rides. I will post pics later. I am also considering the forward controls but I might just go with the Cobra fatty highway bars and pegs. This bike just seems to get better and better with time....can't wait until it is good and broke in so I can ride it like I stole it.... (He's not smilin' that's the wind in his face.....lol)

Later fellow liners,
Yetti

I spent some time on a Venture. Nice ride, but a real dog. I have 28K+ on my Roadliner and love it. From the Florida Keys to the Whiteface Mountain in NY. If they would put the liner motor in the venture then they would have a real machine. A ride and power to go. Stock seats on the liners suck. I went with the Mustang seat combo and love it.

Default new liner rider

I picked a new 07 S just two weeks ago. Great deal on it (old model still on the dealership floor). Was riding a Honda Sabre 1100 (a good bike) but I really like the liner better in every category.

So your saying the liner isnt a real machine. LOL the liner is a great bike, change the seat and thats about it. Now if you want all that other stuff that gets bolted onto cruisers like front fairings and bat wings and gps's and mp3 players and kitchen sincs and the dogs kennel then yeah the liner probably isnt the best choice

Default a few pics of mine it's an 07 roadliners s

just a few add ons. cobra slash cuts, corbin beetle bags, kuryaken highway pegs, cobra fi2000r fuel processor, devine display visor (at the top of the display), oem backrest and windshield. i fabricated the mounts for the pegs to mount off the bottom of the running boards, i just don't like the way the crash bar looks, in my opinion it takes away from the streamlined look of the bike. the only picture with the pegs is the fall color picture. i also fabricated the display visor, it was an attempt to keep the display from reflecting on the windshield during night riding. it doesn't work but it looked good and accents the display nicely. i had to cut the windshield to get rid of the glare from the display, it was very distracting when trying to look over the top of the windshield or even through the thing.
