I got mine 3 weeks ago. Best bike I could have chosen. I have the Black Cherry model because of the color and will be changing out some of the brushed chrome for polished over time.

New to forum. Just bought Roadliner this afternoon and will pick it up Thursday. Black cherry and decided to get the detachable windshield for long drives. Looking forward to those drives. Haven't ridden in several years but just felt it time to get back on. Hoping all the reviews are accurate as there has been quite a few with all good things to say. Terry |

Welcome Terry. I'm sure you'll find the Roadliner to be a great bike. I have one one major problem with it though...I don't have enough time to ride it as much as I want. With a 3 mile commute to work, it's just a tease.

Had to get the corbin seats as well, because the Yamaha backrest doesn't have enough clearance to fit with the corbin bags installed. And the girlfriend insisted on a backrest. And bags that looked THAT good were one of the things that sold me on the Roadliner in the first place... However, having ridden with the backrest on the driver's seat, I have come to realize I am going to need to buy a 2nd one. Last edited by daveygeek; 09-01-2006 at 02:54 PM. |

I had a SV650 (naked) from 02, until I bought this in June. And some dirt bikes. All in all, very happy with the Roadliner. My only complaints are that the display reflects too much off of the windshield at night, it should have been a 6 speed, my poor mileage (around 38 mpg) and the small tank means poor range, and the Max load weight of 470 lb is too low for it to be a good 2 passenger tourer. Good! The reason I asked. Is I am curious as hell as to how that thing handles. If you could give a real good work up of it. How she rides, handles, accelerates that'd be great. Of course, we are all looking for the good details! Not just...Handles well. Handles great! Corners like a dream! We are expecting a 500 word no less full write up!!! |

Well... I'm probably not the one you want doing the write up then. I simply don't push bikes that hard. I tend to be a fairly relaxed rider. And to top it off, I just don't have that much experience. But I will do what I can, and will compare it with what I know. Acceleration: Loads of power, and all of the acceleration that comes with it, however I am really surprised it doesn't accelerate quicker than it does given the power available. Than being said, it definitely makes you feel like like you could fall off the back if you don't hold on tight under a hard acceleration (the headwind at 70mph makes it feel that way too if you don't have the windshield on). Pulls very strong from 2K to almost all the way up. Handling: Very nimble for a bike of its size. Lighter than a bike that size has any right to be. The best balanced motorcycle I have ever ridden by far. I hardly notice a handling difference when I have a passenger, so long as we are moving. Stable at all speeds (up to 110 for me, so far), and more stable than my SV was above 90. Great turning radius. Balance is particularly good at low speeds. Ride: Great riding position, good for long hauls. The stock seat is great, I just got the Corbin seat, and don't have much experience with it yet. Speaking for somebody my size (6'1", 200lb) the handlebars could probably come back another inch or so to really be a perfect fit. Other thoughts: The reflection of the (otherwise beautiful) dial on the windshield is really distracting. I am thinking of cutting a piece of smoked plastic to fit over it. The horn is anemic. I would recommend replacing them with a pair of Stebel TM80s (nearly a perfect drop in replacement). |

Hi just bought a 06 roadliner with 1,980 miles on it and wanted to know if they are suppose to have more engine noise than the 1600 roadstars did? Mine sure sounds like it rattles when taking off from a stop.I put around a thousand miles on it so far with no problems, maybe just me but would like to hear from other owners about any engine sounds. Thanks, chris
