They need a new announcer, not a single boogity, boogity, boogity.

That was a crazy 2nd race. It really was like a 125 GP race. This is shaping up to be a brutal season.

To bad about Haga. I thought he would do much better.

I'm only posting a reply so I can keep up on at least a couple of the races this year.

You watched NASCAR instead, didn't you. You probably have Road America right down the street too.

actually, road america is close to 2 hours drive away, but in my defense;

I have gone to EAA at Oshkosh, 10 out of the last 12 years. It's doggone impressive, I've met people from off the continent there.

I'm finally definitely going to go to road america this year. really.

I'm going to print the schedule and circle a day, so help me gawd.

You'll enjoy it. If R.A. is like others, it usually only costs $20-30 for a weekend pit pass. Better yet, volunteer as a Corner Worker. You get the best view of the action, you get in free, they feed you and they even pay you a few bucks. The parties racers and corner workers have at night can be a blast. I think it may be MAARC that handles track marshall work there.

BAH! to you too. Bite me gixxer boy! Don't you have a race bike to finish prepping or somethin'?

And before you chime in Don, yeah, I know you rode a 100 miles yesterday.

If It snows one more day, I'm going to kill something.

If only.

Last time I checked, it was $20 to see Friday qualifiying (within driving distance of Chicago)

Heck a weekend pass to anything worth watching is the better part of $100.

Always had a better use for that $100.

EAA, on the other hand is something like $40, and the show is a bit different every year. Let's see the planes I saw there

A B1, B52, B2, F4, F86, f117, a ww1 bomber, and just about every ww2 fighter that ever flew (for the us) including a rare P - 38 fighter.

Including 2 dozen P-51's (worth a good 1.8 million a piece). Got that picture around here somewhere.

Anyway, even remember Pete Egan (road and track, Cycle world contributing columnist) wrote a column about how the prices of watching a race went up.

In conclusion, a good 3 day weekend at road america is going to be the better part of 3 bills, only including the pass, food, beverages and not a hotel to stay at. Of which, there aren't that many even an hour's drive away.

Try going for the CCA races ( Championship Cup Series ). It's $40 for Fri. - Sun. for paddock and all other access.

Road America - Road Racing at its Best

It's the same race org. I'm involved with as a U.S. Marshall. MAARC is the group that runs the corner workers for CCS events.

If you want, I could contact them and see if you could corner work for the event. If you worked the event you could also camp at the track. Spectators aren't allowed to.

We actually have sun today. If the bike wasn't in pieces, I go chase plows.

BTW - I had a couple of people that were willing to haul that bike down to Daytona or GenningsGP for you. Not exactly close but, at least into the sun belt!

I wish I had the money, I'd be there now. Oh well, maybe next year.
