| Besides the sight of worn down tires can you actually truly tell the difference when tires are replaced on a bike??? especially around corners and turns....

| The flat spot on a rear tire dramatically affects cornering. Remember, it's the rear tire that turns the bike once a lean is initiated, not the front. It'll feel like a brand new bike, even if you're lucky enough to have a fairly mild flattening. Also, rubber hardens as it ages, making ride quality on new tires feel softer and more compliant. In other words, you betcha.

| Just don't forget that if you get new tires to take it easy for the first 100 miles or so until you wear off the substance they use to make it easier to unmold the tires. Brand new tires are slippery till then.

| I'm not that great of a rider (13,000 miles) and I can tell the difference. Heck, I could tell that there was a certain degree of discomfort involved with having a Battlax on the front and a Dunlop 207 on the back! The profiles were different or something. I just put some new MEZ4s on my 02B6. What a difference! The bike turns again (GASP! Imagine that!). I love these Metzelers . . . let's see how they wear. With regards to the flat spot: Yes! The flat spot bites! The bike feels unwilling to turn, and then, once you get off the flat spot, it feels totally dedicated to staying in the turn, and not the GOOD kind of dedication . . . more like the stubborn-as-a-mule type of dedication. It'll stand back up again, but you've gotta' use more effort to do it, just like getting it to turn in the first place. Hate the flat spot. Hate it . . .

| Last year I changed both tyres because front one had developed a blister! Like the other post said, don't forget to scrub them in,especially if you ride in the wet. Stevie
