|  Long ride on VS800 I will be taking a 450 mile ride coming next month. The longest ride I have ever done in one day was 350 miles. That was on a Honda 450 Nighthawk. I was real beat after, but the ride was fun. I am planning to ride 450 miles in one day. I don't think this will be a problem, but I would like some input from others who have rode long distance and perhapse a few pionters. This ride will be my biggest test, to see if I am up for the ride I am planning in June. That one will be leave Maryland, then off to Tallahasee FL, then a day or two later, to Cape Coral FL, (between FT Lauderdale and Keys) then about 5 days later Perhapse to North Carolina, and possibly then to Indiana, then back to Maryland. First I have to overcome the South Carolina trip. So, does anyone have any pointers for a newby for longer trips? Keep inmind I have been checking the packing lists, but I am just looking for ideas on handling the ride.

| Mike, I'm not going to give you a list of things to take or how to keep from dehydration/sun burn etc. I've gotto run and someone else will do that on this site, But the one thing I want to remind you of is to not drive so long that you don't realize how brain tired you really are. Thats when things go wrong. Ride safe! JIm

| long ride Thanks. I have always wanted to do a real long hual, but never have. I am excited and have a bit of jitters thinking I am going to do something wrong.

| Long haul I will be taking my 450 mile ride to Myrtle Beach in about 5 weeks. I feel confident. This run will tell me more on what I am doing right and wrong, be fore I take my real long haul in June. That should be over 3000 miles total, and could cap out neer 4000 miles. I am just glad there are other people on here to get info from on taking trips. Thanks.
