Default what brand and model helmet does everybody wear??

i was just wondering what people wear..

im sure it's going to be mainly shoei, hjc, kbc, and arai... but im still curious.. share what you wear and how user friendly it is(comfort, etc)

also, does anybody know if the Icon Mainframe is a good helmet or not? i know it's DOT and SNELL approved.. but im wondering in terms of comfort and venting and fogging up.. im about to buy one unless somebody tells me it sucks.. .if anybody has a Mainframe please share.. thanks.

I just picked up Arai Signet GTRs for the wife and me, and so far they're great. Comfortable, quiet, great finish.

Make sure you fit yours properly. Often they start out a bit snug and form to your head.

I have two HJC. One for my wife and one for me. As Rowdy said, snug when new is better. My helment now fits a little more loose than my wifes does. They are the same size but my wife hardly ever uses hers. Mine is more stretched out now. Other than that I like them.

I have an HJC AC-11. It was tight at first but is very comfortable now.

Tried most brands over the years. Lately Shoei is my choice for a lid. Just bought a Shoei RF 1000. Awesome helmet. Light weight, good fit. Cheek pads are removable to replace with another size if needed. Vent and interior padding allow great air flow. No fogging problems. Has a hold open position to help. Visor stays in place at speed, even when unlocked, when looking back. Had an HJC with a bad habit of the visor opening when you look over your shoulder. My only complaint about the Shoei, the price, but it's worth it. The way I see it. Since a helmet is good for say 5 years if taken care of, it's not really a lot to spend. Besides, how much is your melon worth?

If you like Arai, the KBC helmet feels exactly the same,as they bought the moulds from Arai, but obviously can't use the name.
I personally use an AXO,good price at the time,in a sale, plus I can't fault it(apart from no quick release for visors).

I'm wearing the Shoei RF-1000. Great helmet. I looked at the Mainframe but found out that it didn't have very good venting. Down here in Texas that just wouldn't cut it. I got most of my info on helmets from the guys at helmetharbor.com. They were great at answering general questions about different models. Hope that helps.
