Smile I need a motorcycle!!!!

Really I need to locate a bike I can look at/ride before I buy. Looking for el-cheapo $500-$700.

Here is the reason. The wife wants to learn how to ride. So we are setting you the MRA course then get here a little 200-350 older bike so if it falls and goes "boom" we don't have to cry or she does not get upset and quit. I do not care if the bike I find has already fallen, as long as it can still get back up

I have a ulterior motive. When she feels comfortable on a bike to go riding and all, I will give her my 2005 C50T and I get to get a 2006 C90T

So I need to know how to locate one. Newspapers only are listing HD and 2-50K bikes, cycle-trader in the price range that is acceptable are mini dirt/enduro bikes, dealers have been smoking crack for what they are pricing the old trade-ins...kind of can't figure how to find the el-cheapo, I know they have to be out there darn it

Well, in my recent experience there are NO decent street bikes in that price range. I spent several weeks looking around last year and the cheapest bike I'd want to own (without having to overhaul) was over $3,000. I ended up just buying a new one.

Thumbs up

Look for something like a 79 to 83 Honda 400. CM400 is lower seat height.
You do not want to start her off feet forward. Seems to me there were also
200cc around this date. Used to be able to get a fixer upper for $200.
With the up surge in biking you will find more in the $1,000. range.
See if there is a moto trader mag in your local news store.
There was a period where they were being shipped by the container to places like India and Asia as they had more value there.
Some people, like seniors, have low mileage bikes in their garage.
Good luck.

hey that a good idea...the height issue not a big deal as she is 5'9" oh yea and only 125lbs yea...yea...that's it 125lbs

kind what I was afraid of the $1K thing.. Don't want a fixer upper...just get her riding for 3-4 months then when we are done, dump it back on the market and give her the C50T it's the perfect height for her.

You might find a decent used 250 cruiser (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha) for $1500 that's ready to go - and is easy to resell for about the same price.
