Default first spill

Hi all, just completed the MSF course this weekend and had my first spill. Lucky it was on one of there old beat up bikes and not my shiney new one Was doing the exercise where you have to emergency brake and had a front tire skid. Boy does it happen fast, I didnt even realize it was skidding until it was almost to the ground. Lucky I was almost to a stop when it fell and I was able to just step off the bike and not go down with it. The instructors where great and I really enjoyed the class. I Learned alot and passed with a 98 on the written and 95 on the driving. Those dang u-turns got me. I could not stay in the box so guess I will be working on that some. Still loving the bike and all the great info i get off these boards thanks a ton!

Enjoy the ride and keep the shiny new expensive pretty side up! Full force braking is something to practice on your bike, but start off easy and work your way up learning the feel of the brakes. You will be a fine addition to the proud ranks of C50 riders!

I would suggest taking the MSF Intermediate Course after about 6 months of riding (until your familiar and more comfortable with your own bike). They cover more of your cornering and braking techniques. You have to use your own bike though but is less expensive than the basic course, $90 here in AZ. The class was one day and well worth it!

I took the advanced MSF course and they really focused on slow speed maneuvers, obstacle avoidance, and panic stops. Worth every penny in my opinion.
