Default Spoked tire safety ?

Being new to road bike riding if I buy a cruiser with spoked wheels
chances are it's going to have a inner tube, unless its sealed to use a tube-less tire correct ? this may change my decision on what bike to buy.Is
it true that if you have a puncture with a tubed tire the results can be
disasterous ! tire goes flat right away and dangerous wreck maybe ?
where a tubeless tire air will escape slowly giving you time to notice it.

Don't think about the tires, think of what bike you want to ride.
P.S. I had a flat on mine and it took me quite a while to notice, althoug the bike was getting progressively weird. First time experience!

I had a gashed rear tire last month on my C50 with innertubes. I was doing about 45 mph riding 2 up and I heard a sound and then felt the rear end get very mushy. I just pulled over. No drama. The damage to my tire would have killed a tubeless tire too.

I would prefer tubeless tires though, since they are easy to temporarily repair minor punctures on the road - but there are zillions of bikes with spoked wheels riding all over every day with no problems.

Default tubeless is it!

I still know bikers (friends)that insist on spokes for the looks. I have to laugh when they get a flat...bike needs towed, wheel pulled off and patched. Besides, it takes just as long to clean spokes as it does the rest of the bike. Never again!

With my tubeless, most times I get lucky and just pull the nail and it seals itself. I've ran a week with the nail in one time. Otherwise, I carry a tubless tire patch kit and a small pump and fix it on the spot. You don't do that with tubes.

I ride 8 months a year, minimum 5 days a week, minimun 30 miles a day. I need the peace of mind that I will be able to get to my destination. My first (2) motorcycles were spoked wheels. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ......!

I read that you can send your spoked wheels to get sealed.

I will return with a link ASAP.

+1 ... I HATE the laced wheels on my HD. I guess they look nice, but they are a total hassle to clean, tighten, etc.

I had a flat on the rear once and it wasn't a major deal. I barely got it home. Then I filled it with fix-a-flat (I know, I know ... big no no) and limped it to the dealer three miles away. I told them it was in there and they said it didn't matter because they were putting a new tube and tire on anyhow.

I have owned 14 different bikes over the last 22 years, so I have gotten 4 flats with spokes wheels and tubes, and 3 with tubeless tires. Only one went flat with a 'boom', most just sort of went flat. Don't worry about it.

My eagle vision enables me to avoid all road hazards, I swerved this morning to miss hitting a paper clip ... probably was not necessary, but the maneuver was effortless (j/k ... tube or tubless can get flats, i'm not worried about it at all, maybe i should be, but I'm not.... life is too short to worry about everything, face it, sometimes **** happens)
