Default Completed MSF Course this weekend!

Well, before I even got my bike or joined this forum, a buddy highly recommended I take the MSF course. Not to mention the fact that it is required to be able to ride on a military base, where I happen to work.

The course the military offers here was booked up for months. It is free but it required you to provide your own bike. I ended up waiting 2 months for the MSF course. It was definitely worth the $100 fee. The old Honda Nighthawk I was provided was a beater, but definitely better than trying that "Figure 8" in a 20 foot box on my bike! LOL

Friday evening was classroom study, watching videos, discussing topics, etc.

Saturday was the first riding portion. They split the 24 students into two groups of twelve. I opted to take the afternoon group. We rode from 12:30 - 5:30. Then we regrouped at the classroom at 6:30 pm and finished the topics in the Rider Handbook, watched and discussed a few more videos then took our written exam.

Sunday was the second riding session. It was a beautiful day, so I rode my bike (C50T) up to the motorcycle riding range. After the first day covering basics, I felt much more comfortable and in control riding my own bike.

We finished up the riding exercises that afternoon, then everyone did the graded exercises and we were soon on our way with with a fresh MSF card in our hands!

So, even if you are not REQUIRED to take the MSF course, I highly recommend it. It was well worth the $100 and I am looking forward to taking the Advanced Rider course in the near future.

Thanks for tuning in!
