Default Cool Tools

what are some of the cool tools you've picked up to work on your bikes?

this weekend i picked up a variable speed dremel tool! i LOVE IT!

i used it to mangle the stock battery box. i plan on using it to mangle my new rear fender when it comes in next saturday.

I CAN'T WAIT!

I cringe when I think of mangling anything on my baby.

I recently picked up a Motion-Pro Chain Breaker/Riveter/Press tool.

http://www.tucmoto.com/

part # 08-0058

$69.95 at tucker motor supply. This is a really tough, really cool little tool for removing/installing o-ring (and x-ring, z-ring, whatever) chains.

One of the purposes of the tool is to spread the master link rivets when you install a new chain. I torqued that tool with *most* of what I've got (muscle-wise). I didn't even strip the paint off the threads of the tool. That's one tough booger.

The most invaluable tools I have ever bought were:

- Hand Impact Wrench
- Hardened metric allen head sockets/screwdriver sockets
- Alignment Punch

- Nut

After a Dremel, that's next. There's no good way to remove the countershaft nut without one. You can do it, but it won't be pretty (or safe) unless you have that impact wrench.

You can remove the countershaft sprocket without that quite easily. You just need to know the dark secrets that I possess . . . BUAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, no doubt I like it. Just not when those sparks are coming off my bike.

Maybe the go kart, but not the bike.

I just ordered one of these:

When I receive it, I'll try it out on an older tire for my 30 mile commute and let you all know what I think.

I damn sure wouldn't trust it for anything other than straight-lining.

One of the handiest things was to get an allen and torx set which fit my ratchet.

In my opinion, the Dremel is one of the neatest inventions since the self threading movie projector.

I got a miniature tire psi guage (about 2" long!) It helps when you need to drop that rear tire pressure some and don't feel like guessing.

A Dremel or a self threading movie projector?

Hmm... Best keep Sunny away from the plasma cutter and arc welder! No telling what she might redesign!

The Dremel was indespensible in modding and prepping the last six racebikes. Angle grinder was handy too.

I've had a Dremel for years. I also picked up a huge accessory set for it, the drill press and the router base.

Some other neat things I've added recently:

- Craftsman torque wrench;
- assorted 9.5 mm (3/8 ") drive accessories;
- C spanner for the 'Busa's rear shock; and
- CSPS brand stainless steel rolling toolchest.

mmmm - nice box, Hardware (just me, or did that sound dirty?)

The dremel should have a place reserved for it at the Smithsonian!
