Welcome and congrats on the new first bike!

As for tires, yes take it easy. Tires have a coating on the outside that aids them in releasing from the tread mold. This same coating will release you from your bike in a corner if you push it.

My 2 cents.....plan on riding 100 miles. Start on a straight away and warm up the tires. Then slowly start leaning the bike, gradually scuffing the tires in. Take a few breaks and let the tires cool. After a few heat cycles and 100 miles of scuffing, your tires should be ready to serve you!
