Only I didn't say fudge. That's right F---. Why did this profane utterence spill from my lips. Well it was something like this: (whuaaahh, whuaahh...insert dream sequence flashback here) Been looking for a good, used, late model bike for a few weeks now. Wanted a new C50, but after looking at the many post's about new or refurbashed riders starting small again I decided to take heed. I believe it was GSXRnut that stated in one post, " only buy what you can pay cash for". Good advice, but not wanting to deplete my already pissant savings, I decided to borrow a couple of thousand for a used bike. Don't worry this story gets even longer. I have already ordered some boots, and a helmet. Looking at jackets as well, and planning on taking the ERC MSF course in Sept. which is the only one offered in my area (thanks RR94, and SG1). Untill then I will practice slowly and read up on Proficient Motorcycling via Oldgeezer's sage advice. Now to make a long story even longer as I promised I would. As I said, been lookin to keep the bike costs around 2-3K. Got a loan for 2500 and pretty much had my bike picked out. It was a tossup between an 04 535 Virago, and a '99 LS 650. I had settled on the Savage, because of all the posts in here singing it's praises and it was a few years younger for only a few hundred more bucks. Not to mention the fact that I like wasting time in here and don't wanna be ostracized for riding a different badge Today I drive to the local dealer to check it out and potentially finalize the deal, and what do I find. Well it sure as hell wasn't a Suzuki Savage, that little number went bye-bye last week. So back to CycleTrader and ebay I reckon. Sorry for wasting so much server space, just needed to vent. Man, after rereading my post, I can see why I only got a 3.5 on the GRE Writing section. Sorry about the double post, not sure why that happened. |
