I guess I'm not as odd as I think, rolling my bike through the living room to the back patio (live in an apartment complex) to keep it from getting stolen.

Nice post!

Cool

Great post. I've stolen it to my computer....it needs to be framed and hung on my garage wall!
As for pulling the bike into a motel room....I'd be lying if I said I've never done it. Got caught once though....thought they were going to have a stroke....but I pulled it in anyway afterwards.

Even as a young pup I can identify with some of the advice given here great post.

Reading the responses to it makes me glad that I live in rural Ohio: I live in the biggest town in the county and we've only got 5,000 people - plenty of country roads to ride around on. Also, I can leave my bike outside overnight without worry if I have to and it's no big deal.

I was told I wasn't allowed to bring the 79 bonneville in the house. I even had some good reasons to bring it in. Told her there would be an extra chair in the living room. She told me it would leak oil on her carpet, I told her we could put kitty litter under it and kick the cat out. That didn't go either. When I got the 05 America, the same thing went, I wasn't going to bring it in either, she did go out and take the lawn mower out of the shed, threw a tarp over it and let me move it along side the 79 bonneville

Good post. Since long ago when I had the 250 rebel, none of my bikes fit into hotel rooms, but...I built a special "shop" for my Glide, dual 5 foot entrances so I can drive through the building I also have a Gazebo that I park the bike in overnite in the summer, or if I know I am going to be leaving again in a hurry. In the days of my 650, I did bring it in the kitchen twice.

Hope there's no objections?

I'm a newbie to this site, and I must say this has got to be one of the best reads i've had on the net for a while.
Great site too.
