Cool Another Newbie

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself really quickly. I've been wanting a bike for years now (I've actually read the Idiot's Guide about a dozen times!), and I came REALLY close to picking up a VL800 about this time last year but ended up getting a new truck ('04 Nissan Xterra, hence the name) instead. Well with gas prices climbing, and a nice long commute (about 30-40 miles) to work I'm probably gonna finally get one in the next few months. I'm a cruiser person for sure, and I'm looking at either picking up a new C50 or a used 800 Intruder or Intruder Volusia. I haven't decided between the new or used yet 'cause I waiting until after my MSF class to decide if I can handle a new one without having to worry about dropping it or laying it down! Anyone's opinions are more than welcome!!

Personally, I live in Colorado, which is wonderful 'cause we've got something along the lines of 300 sunny days a year! I'm a Paramedic (and yes I have seen enough people killed on motorcycles that I should know better! ) and at times I've been known to be a hose-monkey...err...firefighter. I'm also finishing up my Bachlors at CU in Boulder. As for other hobbies, I like climbing (rock and mountains), fly fishing, four-wheeling and shooting (my Xterra and my Glock are my two babies until I get the bike!)

Yea...that's about it! I can't wait to get out on the beautiful mountain roads we've got up here on the back of a nice cruiser!!

Nate.

yeah not since 7fiddygixxergirl...hahaha!!

welcome and keep us posted on what you decide to get...i recommend the M50 personally, very muscular and stealthy look to it. But if you are more into the classic styling, the C50 is the way to go.

nice to see more cruiser people around here....damn sport bike people bother me...hahaha

*LOL*

Yea....I make fun of firefighters pretty constantly, which is rather ironic since I'm actually an Lt. on a volunteer department here in Colorado. In reality, I only sometimes mean what I say about them!

What's the difference between a fire hose and an IV tube?

Hey, welcome. You make me miss the Montana mountains of my childhood. I'd never soil them by riding a cruiser through them, though.
