See...watchin' stuff like this sets me back a day or two when riding 'cause the mental picture is so disturbing (to me). I know it's reality but, damn...y did I watch it ?

The scooter guy was lucky 'cause he was thrown clear. Imagine if he was simply run over...eeeew!

A result of not paying attention. Happens sometimes. Unfortunately, a couple of guys got seriously injured. Hate to see turnworkers injured like that. It is a TOUGH job, for basically no money.

Yeha, I noticed that. Having been a Safety Manager, all I can say is that it reminds me of the countless bad examples of people entering a confined space to "rescue" someone from an unknown hazard. It is estimated that 60 percent of confined space fatalities occur among rescuers.

http://www.gciu.org/safety/confsp.shtml

60%.

yeah...just ddint feel it necessary to go into detail about how "the workers getting hit isnt a normality". my overall theme was "at the tracks, accidents happen"

Question is, what was that guy doing on the track in the first place ? Is it just me or did his riding seem squirrily from the get go. When you see him come around from the left you know this guy is going down, just a matter of time, lack of brakes or skill or brains ?
