Tool kits for the road

I decided that I need to go through my on bike, traveling tool kit and replace some items, add and delete some items. I need to make an updated check list of these things. What do you carry on trips, on a daily basis, etc? This is in addition to or including the little factory tool kit.

Here is my basic road survival kit (for the bike that is).
Owners Manual
Tie Wraps
J B Weld (fast set)
Bungee Cords (two adjustable)
Canyon Dancer Bar tie down adapter (in case of tow)
Factory tool kit
Tire repair kit
Hand rags and wipes
Duct Tape
Chain lube
Air gauge
Mini-Maglite and extra batteries

Forgot the critical part for when all else fails!
Cell Phone
AAA Card with RV/Motorcycle Plus plan (for those 100 mile tows)

I'd put some latex/rubber gloves in there. That way you can work on the bike w/out getting your hands dirty.

Most of it fits in the tail section of my gixxer, along with a few other things. If you carry the right items properly packed, you'll be amazed how much stuff can be carried in a small space!

Those darn rubber gloves! I always mean to add them , but always forget, until I'm on a roadside somewhere about to get greasy!

I also carry a couple extra dollars for "emergency" food, gas, phone calls...etc.

I would toss the extra batteries, if the ones in the maglite fails it will probably be of expired batteries, and the spare ones will not be a lot better.
I always carry a continuity tester (just a light with a wire in fact) and some electrical wire, for emergency bypass. there's also a first aid kit under my seat.

No air gauge, they have those at the gas-station.

No chain lube, I've fitted a Pro-Oiler which needs only a refill at service intervals.
before that I used motoroil left in "empty" cannisters at gasstations.

Continuity tester, good idea, and I work with electrical and electronics all day and I can't think of that?

I don't trust those gas station gauges. My bike is to fussy, or is it me, when it comes to tire pressure. I carry a small digital one that I know is accurate.

Chain Lube, always when running 500 to 600 miles a day. Those weekend over night rides are hard on it.

Maybe I'm just to anal about this stuff, but I hate coming up short and getting stranded, or not being able to get someone else rolling again.

You'd be surprised how many crashed squids bikes we've hauled out of site, reassembled with tie wraps and duct tape, so they could get it home on its own power! Guess I should explain: if you have a solo crash in our local riding areas, damaging just you and your bike, you suffer twice. Once is the crash and the repair cost. The other is our local LEO's write you up for failure to control your vehicle, and a ton of others. Not to mention some of our favorite ride areas are what they consider a double fine zone! Now that really hurts!
